Cigdem Toraman has over 30 years of experience in essential management functions in finance, venture capital, marketing, advertising, technology, media, and retail industries.

Before founding StartersHub US, she was the Managing Director of Startupbootcamp Scale San Francisco, Startupbootcamp Istanbul, and StartersHub Turkey for seven years.

She founded her venture in the e-commerce, retail, and textile sectors after managing a global personalization technology company's country-wide operations in 2012-2013. She worked for ten years at Dogan Holding, one of Turkey's largest conglomerates. She was the Group Director responsible for Media Sales, Marketing, and Technology in Dogan Gazetecilik and later the General Manager of Dogan Online's private shopping site. She also managed the research and development activities of a leading pan-European distributor of key PC components. She managed a team building the electronic trading system for the Istanbul Stock Exchange (Borsa Istanbul).

She is an investor, board member, and advisor to several companies: Monument, Segmentify, Mimiq, Kimola, BeforeSunset, Breath Hub, Finsmart, Insumo, and Decktopus. She also co-founded the ethically conscious apparel and home textile company loom.ist by Ark of Crafts.

She teaches marketing, e-commerce, digital and social media classes, business development, sales, and entrepreneurship at several universities, acceleration programs, and corporate institutions.
